Welcome to the City of Maplewood’s Citizen and Business License Portal

 

This Portal will allow you to complete your business license and business license renewal online. We are still available to assist you in person and answer questions.

New Businesses: Please note. you may not commence business operation until the Maplewood Building Official and Fire Marshall have conducted inspections. Your business premises must comply with all City of Maplewood Code requirements as determined by these inspections.  Only after your business/premises meet city code requirements will you be issued a valid business license.  BUSINESS OPERATIONS CONDUCTED WITHOUT A VALID LICENSE CONSTITUTES A VIOLATION OF CITY ORDINANCE.

 

It is your responsibility to request these required inspections by calling 314-645-3600 at least 48 hours in advance.

 

A refundable deposit in the amount of the regular license fee for your type of business MUST accompany this completed application form which will be applied to the cost of your business license upon issuance of same.  Should application not be acted upon by the applicant within the above-specified time period, or should license be denied, deposit will be refunded upon written request by the applicant.

 

Before you get started you will need:

  • A copy of a photo ID (valid ID’s include a driver’s license, passport)
  • Estimated Gross Receipts (Merchants and Manufacturers only)
  • A copy of Missouri sales tax I.D.; OR if applicable, Missouri Certificate of No Tax Due; OR verification of registration.

 

Business License Renewal: Before you get started you will need:

  • Gross Receipts (Merchants and Manufacturers) – Federal 1120 Form from previous year.
  • Missouri Certificate of No Tax Due

The mobile food vendor must provide to the city clerk proof of an automobile insurance policy, in the amount of no less than fifty thousand dollars/one hundred thousand dollars/ten thousand dollars ($50,000/$100,000/$10,000) issued by an insurance company licensed to do business in the state, covering all claims for damages to property and bodily injury, including death, which may arise from operation under or in connection with the license or permit. Such insurance shall name the city as an additional insured and shall provide that the policy shall not terminate or be cancelled prior to the expiration date without thirty (30) days’ advance written notice to the city.
